She has always had a passion for words and wants to pursue this as a career. Her dream is to share her passion of writing with the community, through reading and writing activities and workshops. She also aims to write her own novel. Through being at The Crosby Collective, Emily has gained the knowledge and confidence to explore her dream of becoming a freelance writer. She loves being within this community and has enjoyed working with the people she has met. Jon Bell uses our space for his photography and clothing business @jonbellphotography @ragamuffinretro The Crosby Collective provide him a space to work and edit his photos and videos. He uses the Workshop as a studio space for his photos and videos and rents a pod in our Studio where he keeps the Ragamuffin Retro stock to sell. Jon has been a part of many of the projects the Crosby Collective do, his very first was the School for Start-ups which helped him with his small businesses. Jon would like to be able to have his photography and videography business soar. He wants to get his own Studio space for his photography business and expand his clientele. He’d like to travel all over the country and others as well for the amazing photo opportunities the world has to offer. The Collective has really made a difference in Jon’s life. It has given him a space to meet and network with other businesses and like-minded individuals and with the School for Start-Ups it really helped him get his business going, giving him the training and support he has needed to run his own successful business. For the past two years Tracy has worked at the Crosby Collective as the Project Administrator. She oversees everything admin, from invoices, to finance, to our Pantry stock. Tracy keeps the Collective running as the ‘mum’ of the group and helps keep order in the space. In the future Tracy would like to continue her work within the community and have some more time to spend with the Beavers group she works with. Being at the Crosby Collective has helped to give Tracy an identity outside of family life. She loves coming to work to see the community and the people she works with. Liz is a volunteer here at the Crosby Collective. She helps with the general running of the Collective. She helps in the kitchen, makes sure the plants are watered and thriving, delivers coffee for Good Coffee when the barista is busy with orders. Liz is always around to help with whatever is needed but stays even later some nights to help with Red Tent nights. Liz would like to pass the Food Hygiene course she is currently doing to do more in the Kitchen. She would also like to learn how to use the coffee machine.Liz would also like to start up a Coffee Morning at the Collective every Monday. Volunteering at the Crosby Collective has made Liz much happier in herself and less stressed about things going on in her life. It has given her a place with a sense of community to go to during the day and she enjoys coming down just to be in the building. It has also given her more skills with some members teaching Liz how to make bracelets which she sells during the monthly market. James is the social media assistant and admin assistant for the Crosby Collective. He spends his time here supporting with admin, taking photos of what’s going on and managing the social media accounts. With the help of Callum and Jon; James has learnt how to use podcasting equipment and take professional level photos for the Instagram and Facebook accounts that the Crosby Collective have.  In the future James hopes to learn more about photography from Jon to take it on as a hobby. He’d also like to venture into the world of Digital Animation with the help of a sketch pad he’s saving up to purchase.  With the help of the Crosby Collective James has seen his confidence rise as he takes charge of multiple projects the space has to offer. He has expanded his skill set with computers and the business side of the Collective: taking minutes in meetings, keeping track of who uses the space and keeping track of members records.   The space has helped him meet people in the fields he is interested in, @jonbellphotography and @callumlwale , that have taken him under their wing and are mentoring him in their respected fields, Photography and Film technology.  This is all made possible by funding from the European Structural and Investment Funds.  #podcast #socialmedia #ourpeople #meettheteam #ourstories
Rebecca is the facilitator at the Crosby Collective. She oversees the booking of facilities and organises events the Crosby Collective have, like the monthly market. She supports the volunteers and staff anyway she can and works incredibly hard to make sure everyone is comfortable, and their needs are met. In the future, Rebecca would like to find more time to pursue her painting and visit more markets around the country. Rebecca dreams of being able to open an art café where people can peruse and sell art and have space to create their own art whilst drinking good coffee and helping support other artists. With the assistance of the Crosby Collective Rebecca has been trained in Business Coaching and is the person in charge of our School for Start-ups. Helping those who use the space to grow their businesses and change their lives, whether that is helping them find resources they need or being a person to bounce ideas off, Rebecca is always there to assist in any way she can. Aimee is the amazing barista here at the Crosby Collective. She runs our coffee shop, Good Coffee, and is the first face people see when entering the building. She is always friendly and welcoming to those coming in for the first time or returning for their tenth. Aimee is also the person who keeps the profits for Good Coffee and The Pantry safe as well as the person who does general cleaning whilst the building is open. With the Crosby Collective, Aimee has been trained in how to use the coffee machine and make many wonderful and different types of coffee. Aimee would like to open her own independent coffee shop in the future. Making a more friendly and intimate environment that can hold its own against the chain stores like Starbucks and Costa. With the help of the Crosby Collective Aimee has received training on the coffee machine that has broadened her horizons when it comes to looking for work and has helped give her more time to pursue her artwork. It has also helped her build up her confidence being the front woman of the building. ArtLincs – the North Lincs Cultural Education Partnership – is seeking artists to create online activities for school children of all ages. Whatever the art form – from drama to dance, sculpture to poetry, and everything in between – we are seeking artists to provide exciting, innovative and inclusive opportunities for North Lincolnshire school children to be inspired in their homes. We're looking for people from a variety of arts backgrounds who lack experience working with schools and who wish to widen their future career opportunities. You will be creating some activities for school-aged children in North Lincolnshire which will be shared through school websites. We have been pioneering sustainable, holistic community development for 35 years. We work in many communities affected by inequality that impacts all areas of life.


So we work in a joined-up way across our communities to create change – economically, socially, physically, spiritually; in education, housing, justice, health, youth, and family support; with people of all ages and in all situations.

Where systems leave communities disadvantaged we’re bold about pioneering alternatives and trying new things. We’re not satisfied with the status quo where it keeps people trapped in poverty, or constantly at risk of exclusion.
